What does Valentine’s Day mean to you, Pulp Friends?
Well, once upon a time, it was specifically for all the people who were with a significant other out there. And let’s be honest, it was a day that divided people. The chasm between those who were in couples and those who were not was decidedly wide and scary!
Indeed, the poet Chaucer (who was alive in the Middle Ages) was the first to associate Valentine’s Day with Romantic Love. So we have him to blame/thank!
But let’s leave the past behind and focus on the present moment. The relevance of Valentine's Day has actually changed significantly throughout the years. In this day and age (it’s 2025, people!), V-Day now increasingly comes to symbolise friendships and self-love. About time!
So how can we celebrate ourselves and the people closest to us? Why don’t we begin with …
- paper hearts -
Hearts for our own good selves.
Spend a solo date painting a watercolour, making a print or doing a drawing on a paper heart for Yours Truly. Also great for invitations, place cards and personalised stationery…
This handmade paper from South India varies in weight up to 210gsm and is made from 100% recycled cotton rag. And it’s acid-free, baby! Yeah!
Do you want the dimensions? Here are they are:
heart small - 8cm / Each heart is paired with a matching envelope.
heart large - 15cm / Each heart is paired with a matching envelope.
We rejoice in this 100 % recycled cotton rag paper’s exceptional strength and durability. Just like your own incredible spirit and friendships.
And if you were looking to say ‘I Love You’ in one hundred different ways - to yourself or anyone else- then we have just the thing:
100 LOVES.
This cute lil’ booklet facilitates the flow of love.
The math is easy. 100 pages to write 100 notes and quotes to give to your loved one. Write down the things you like about them day-to-day, as well as the little things you don't usually get to express in this little book.
In other words - it’s a place to keep track of all the things that make that person shine for you. Daily, weekly, sometimes and always.
Once filled, present the book to whomever it is addressed to. It says, “ I want to tell you you are wonderful” without having to use the spoken word.
So sweet.
Pair Keyring
One is sweeter than two? Not always.
Create a connection with two keyrings in a pack. For a parent and child, friends, siblings or partners.
In Ancient Egypt, friends exchanged woven bracelets made from reeds and decorated with gold and precious stones, and in Medieval Europe, BFFs exchanged rings engraved with special messages or symbols.
But in these modern times, who would think that a keyring could be such a great gift for a partner in crime?! When you consider it, it really is a conceptually lovely way to be connected. Gift one to your companion for Valentine's day, and keep one for yourself. Cute gesture!
Here are some specifications for your information: Length 117mm x Width 90mm x Thickness 9mm. Body: rayon, polyester. Metal fittings: copper, iron. Package: paper, PET.
Love Ya, Bye.
All You Need Is Love. The Power of Love. I Love Rock’N’Roll. Baby Love. I Think I Love You.
No matter which lyrical ditty you choose, the point is, that there will always be different types of love circulating the world. It doesn't have to be because of a specific day deemed ‘The Day of Love’ by a medieval poet or by a mainstream culture that compels you to buy things.
Think of your person, your people, yourself. Love them. Use that as your starting point. The rest, as we have laid out, will follow. xx
