Decay and Flourish

Break it down to build it back up.

Whatever you're deconstructing or reconstructing, make a plan on sustainable paper with Decomposition Notebooks.

Decomposition. Let’s look at the concept more closely, shall we?

Being composed is one thing: you’re calm and in control. Additionally, a composition is the makeup, structure, or configuration of something. A composition is also a creative work, specifically a poem or a piece of music. Fancy!

But just because something is a composition, it doesn’t mean it is composed. As the 20th-century artist and educator Josef Albers writes:

“In writing, a knowledge of spelling has nothing to do with an understanding of poetry”

Albers means to say that our interaction with art (in this case, the written word) doesn’t need to make formal sense. In fact, the structure might not make sense at all. The pre-composition  - yeah, we're making that a thing! - is just as important as the end result.

Decomposition means the state or process of rotting or decay. But fear not, it’s also about giving way for new ideas, projects and life.

Yep, destruction and creation are the same coin, with two sides. When things go South, we can look North. When a door closes, a window opens. The sun will set and rise again in a matter of time.

In other words, it’s the journey of the written word, not its destination, that matters. You might even say that the way a composition comes together is through the eyes of the audience. That’s you, Pulp Friends!

How to start? Don’t think, just start.

A blog

A poem

A list of pros and cons (about whatever!)

A business

A novel

What is better than beginning the journey of a collection of words that turn into a composition for an appreciative audience than with a sustainable notebook? We have one just for all the compositions and tasks.
