Manifest With The Best

Vision Board Essentials activated!

Mood board, vision board, dream poster, collage, montage, call it what you want! It’s a space for pictures, words and colours that express your future hopes, goals, ambitions and aspirations.

And it’s fun to make.

The origins of creative visualisation hark back to Ancient Egypt (of course), with hieroglyphics and early cave paintings. Biblical reference? “Write the vision and make it plain on tablets”. Tablets! Made of stone!

Indeed, the psychological aspect of this is called the Reticular Activating System (RAS) in the brain, which filters information and focuses on what is deemed important, such as images on a board. Well, fancy that!

Here are some suggestions to get you started on your vision board journey:

The School of Life / Inspiration | $60.00

Not sure what to envision? Spark the idea with these cards.

52 cards with surprising approaches to help you find the solution that's tantalisingly, or even infuriatingly, out of reach.

Stuck? Simply pick a card at random and follow its advice. It might encourage you to block out the world for a moment, to vent your anxieties about the problem, or to imagine how a visionary would approach the obstacle. With a range of approaches inspired by art, psychology, music and more, the Inspiration card set will help you get closer to the answer you're seeking.

OBJECT INDEX | boring scissors | $50.00

The name does not say it all. How can these scissors be boring when they are so darn exciting? Use these blades to cut out inspirational images, paper patterns and shapes, news articles, etc, to create a manifestation collage.

Japanese-made stationery essentials for the everyday, Object Index works with specialist manufacturers to bring minimalist style and quality craftsmanship to tools that are built to last.

Minimalist, high-precision scissors crafted by blade manufacturers in Seki, Gifu, Japan. Known for their simple design, they feature sharp stainless steel blades, hand-finished pivot screws, and are available in standard or non-stick black coating for adhesive tasks.

Sharply satisfying!

Sellotape Double Sided Tape Roll | $8.95

Collage is the way to your future. Use the aforementioned scissors to cut, and use this double-sided tape to paste!

Fun Fact: An Engineer named Richard Drew invented masking tape (1925) and later contributed to transparent tape (1930) to solve a specific problem: automotive painters struggling with messy lines on two-tone cars. His invention provided a clean, easily removable tape that allowed for precise, two-toned paint jobs without damaging the underlying paint.

Gluey!
